enchilada enrique

This week im supposed to talk about where I think technology is going in the future. Basically I think that technology will take over the world, not like cyborgs killing and Godzilla but more in the sense that kids younger and younger are going to start getting phones in 3rd grade and since our generation is so tech savvy the young and old will be loving it wanting more and with the want for more will come new unnecessary gadgets that do nothing of use but over time it will become necessary, like Ipod's people where fine before Ipods cam out but now if you dont have an ipod and your older than 14 your a minority. So over time technology will grow until we basically become an episode of the Jetsons.

Kindest regards,
Jerome Hernandez

Best gadget of 2010?

This year has been one the greatest year for inventions since the year the spork was created. Why you ask? Because of great things like the Iphone 4, Ipad and the Twirling Spaghetti Spoon, but one thing that blows them all away is the Fujifilm FinePix Real 3D W3 camera. This camera can film not only in 2d but also in "stunning" 3d. The W1 has two lenses, each capturing color images at 10 megapixel resolution and each capable of 3x optical zoom. The LCD display on the back of the camera measures 2.8" diagonal. The W1 is capable of displaying 3D photos and movies that it has already taken. I think this is the gadget of the year because it is taking cameras and how we use them to a whole new level and it doesn't hurt that it is 100$ cheaper than its previous models who Fujifilm would rather not talk about.

Google's own computer?

Google will be releasing a computer mid year 2011. It is called the cr-48 and I quote cnet news that the cr-48 will have great features like "Every Chrome notebook will work with Verizon 3G service. Each user gets 100MB of free data per month for two years. You can also buy different plans, the first starting at a day pass for $9.99. There are no overage charges or cancellation or setup fees.
There are options to have different user IDs on the same machine as well as a guest mode with completely private ("Incognito") browsing.
Your experience with setting up and using Chrome will be the same no matter what machine you're using. Everything is synced through the browser.
They worked hard on tying the browser directly to the hardware for security purposes. There is auto updating, sandboxing at the OS level, and all their data is encrypted by default.
There's also something called Verified Boot. Verified Boot makes sure that the OS is in the read-only firmware of the computer, so no software can modify it. When you boot Chrome OS, it checks to make sure nothing has been modified. Google is calling it 'the most secure consumer operating system that's ever been shipped.'" The cr-48 looks like it will be a top selling computers in years to come. Personally I believe that the cr-48 will sell slow at first because people won't want to give away their macs and pcs for a completely new computing system, but in the future I believe that Google cr-48 and google chrome will become increasingly more popular and will become the best browser-laptop combo in the computing world as well as each individually getting better in their own respective ways.

Verizion's new 4g network is it worth it?

verizon is realeasing its new 4th generation network today December 5, 2010. verizon has boasted that it can go up to 10 times faster than its 3g predecessor. The 4g can go through 5 GB of data in just 32 minutes. Comparable 3g networks that operate at 7.2 Mbps. With great news though comes some bad, The 4g network will cost 50 $ per month for 5 gb and 10 $ for every gb after 5. Even if you do want to get the new 4g verizon has said that 70 percent of the areas that they cover can have the ability to go on the 4g network. Honestly I don't think I know anyone who will be paying 50 dollars sa month for internet on their phone since the 3g is so much cheaper and basically the same thing. I don't think that anyone should buy the 4g unless they find them selves searching the internet on their mobile phone all the time, and even then they have to watch out for going tover the data limit.

Motorola Headset to change the way we think of computers?

Motorola announced Wednesday that they are going to create a hands free wireless computer headset.
This is not the first time someone someone is trying to create a headset computer many have tried and failed, but Motorola will be working with micro display specialist Kopin."The device will offer voice, audio and PC capabilities on a virtual reality-style 15-inch monitor that will also support simulation software and streaming video." This project has been called the Golden i project. Initially Golden i was tested with Linux but due to limited space and support Motorola and Kopin decided to go with Microsoft Windows CE. Not everything about the headset will be great though.People who have used the headset say they feel seasick when they use it. Overall I think this product has potential but will take a while for more people to buy it. The only people who will buy it release day(should it be released) will be the hardcore techies because people won't want to give up their mac or pc that they are so used to for something that may not work. In my opinion it will be a cool gadget to have but I don't know anyone who'll buy this including me.

ipad only newspaper

Steve Jobs and Rupert Murdoch (head of News Corporation) are starting an Ipad only newspaper called The Daily. The Daily will cost 99 cents a week and "tabloid sensibility with a broadsheet intelligence." The Daily has been hidden from the public eye until now, the official release date has not been released yet but since it has been in production for some time now you can expect it to be released before next spring, hopefully this winter. There will be a dedicated team of 100-150 journalists that will work solely to produce daily content for the newspaper. More information about The Daily will be released before the end of December and in the future could expand to other tablets.

black ops review

Today Call of Duty Black Ops was officially released to the public. I have looked all over the internet and the lowest rating I was able to find was 9 out of 10. That is great saying the last game made by Treyarch wasn't like by many people. A friend of mine got the game early yesterday because the company shipped it to him to early, he said "it is much better than modern warfare 2 was the first time I played it." As I have said before I cannot wait for this game to come out it will defiantly be my favorite CoD if your interested in getting the game I suggest going to your nearest Best Buy or Game and get it right away.
